Countless people ask why today's online betting platforms are virtually all about sports. And yet, almost all of them also showcase very vibrant and varied sections devoted to casino and live casino gaming. More often than not, the purveyors of these platforms offer a fully-loaded gaming suite that can include poker and even some good ole reliable bingo with lottery action. When these platforms give each of these sections the same amount of elbow grease, then this scattered attention shouldn't be an issue; in fact, for many players, this scattered attention can be a pathway to engagement.

The Rizk online casino certainly has a concentration on this specific division of their business. They were born as an online casino, and all their promotional efforts are understandably angled towards that part of their business. Even their marketing is concentrated on that division.

In the end, we must ask not just whether Rizk is a good sportsbook but whether it is worth your time and money or whether it is just an add-on to the online-casino portfolio. That is what this review attempts to discover. We will cover all the nifty things that Rizk has to offer. If by the end we don't see Rizk as a hidden gem, we will at least let you know if it is worth your time and investment.

Rizk Ongoing Promotions

Rizk Ongoing Promotions Screenshot

It was with much disenchantment that we learned Rizk had allowed their sports welcome offer to expire without replacing it with something of a comparable standard. Unfortunately, we found the promotions offered to existing customers were no better.

Honestly, Rizk's current promotions are a bit of a jumble. They've given sports bonuses in the past, but you'd have to dig deep into the site to find that evidence. In fact, as of this moment, there are no such bonuses to be found on the site, and we're about to tell you the one way sports bettors can earn any rewards at all. If you want to learn about it, that is. It's kind of hard for us to recommend Rizk to sports bettors when this is all there is to report.

 Wheel Of Rizk

One of the uncommon rewards for sports betting you can get from Rizk is a "Rizk Free Bet." This type of bet works in much the same way as a risk-free bet you might encounter in other betting realms. If you place the bet and it loses, you get back the amount you staked. There are some specific incentives, though, that do have certain terms and conditions attached to them. They mostly limit you to betting on very specific types of events or kinds of markets. If you use these free bets under the right circumstances, they will yield very fair outcomes.

As Rizk describes it, there are three principal ways to secure a risk-free bet, although two of these are nearly useless. One is through continuous promotions (which aren't available now), and another is that they 'might just give you one' (which is hardly reliable). So the only method that gives a modicum of a chance to obtain a token with some reliability is the Wheel of Rizk.

Essentially, this is a creative take on a loyalty program. When you bet at Rizk (or in the casino), you will gradually fill up your Power Bar. When the perfectly filled Power Bar is attained, you will then be able to access (and subsequently spin) the Wheel of Rizk.

This is a fortune wheel that you basically spin and get a reward depending on where you land. These rewards keep increasing in value and are getting more and more generous as you fill this bar and climb through the levels. They may even include a Rizk Free Bet, which is swift and free, with no strings attached. In the best case, you can even win cash via the Wheel of Rizk, which again is something you can use on the sportsbook.

Rizk Markets And Betting Markets

Rizk Markets And Betting Markets screenshot

Rizk is clearly not a strong promoter to either new or existing customers. That is not the worst thing that can happen, however. For one thing, a bookie's long-term viability can hinge on a few key factors, and we'll get to one of those—betting market selection—in a moment.

Rizk isn't doing great in this department either, but their range of markets is respectable. As of now, they have about 25 sports you can wager on, which is around what you would find at most P1 ($$$) sportsbooks. They also have a few special events that you can bet on. Somehow, despite them being in the top half of sportsbooks when it comes to this department, I still feel like their odds and betting options could be better.

The football department usually has the biggest number of personal markets, and we’ll get to that in more detail shortly. To back that up though, you’ll find plenty of other popular options. These include tennis, golf, motorsport, rugby, cricket, and boxing. The massive American leagues like the NFL, NBA, and NHL are also represented, as are some more niche sports like bandy, volleyball, and water polo.

That said, some very notable choices are missing here. The biggest, without a doubt, is horse racing, which comes in a distant second to football in online betting. Obtaining a gambling license for horse racing can be very difficult, and Rizk may not have been able to get one, but the absence of this sport is a big dent in the site's credibility.

Even though UFC (which also isn't endorsed) finds itself in a similar position, not having eSports is a bit more perplexing. This vertical has seen immense growth and carries zero licensing problems; indeed, it seems almost like a prerequisite for the majority of contemporary sportsbooks—both titanic and tiny—to enable their customers to bet on digital athletics.

Football

Horse racing is not presented here. As noted earlier, this leaves the football section in an even more critical state. We are pleased to state that Rizk passes this test with colours flying, giving the beautiful game the level of attentiveness that bettors have come to expect.

The selection of football markets available here is something to behold. It is not just the Champions League, the Premier League, La Liga, and so on that you can wager on – though, of course, Rizk covers those as well – but they cover a whole host of other competitions, and not just in Europe. They cater, yes, for some leagues that are a bit off the beaten track, like those in Portugal, Austria, and Greece. But, they also serve up plenty of opportunity to bet on football from much further afield, as they cater for leagues in Asia, Australasia, Africa, and South America too. That is, of course, home league action. They also cover all sorts of continental and international matchups.

Another good thing is the variety of ways to place the bets. For most games, you will find plenty of fun bet types to choose from. They cover all the classic ones and then some, including:

Betting on standard and Asian handicaps is simple. However, this is not a perfect betting choice. There is a shocking lack of prop bets for players. The only way to bet on player performance here is to back a player to score a goal at some point during the match. This is very odd and relatively rare since most modern betting platforms have a seemingly limitless supply of player-related bets.

Rizk enables you to bet on live football matches in other jurisdictions. But as one would expect, the number of actual markets here is much lower. That said, you can still bet on Match Result, Both Teams to Score, and the like while the game is in play. We were at least pleased to see some decent outright markets available, for both club and international competitions.

Tennis

Tennis banner

Without a doubt, betting on tennis does not match the same level as a sport like football, but with its all-year schedule, it remains quite a popular betting market. Rizk is aware of this and has put together a very decent tennis section.

All four of the grand slams at the top end have been given detail, as you would expect, but tour events that are not so well known receive excellent coverage too. This applies not only to pre-match betting but also to in-play. The outright markets for the biggest tournaments are available as well, and in most cases these markets open months in advance.

Other Sports

Other Sports banner

In this introduction, it is important to address the gaps in market selection at Rizk. Certain types of betting, like virtual sports, are left out, which is a noticeable gap. But that seems to be a somewhat niche area Rizk is pursuing with its market selection. Overall, though, Rizk offers a very solid, diverse selection of betting options that easily stands the test of time.

Those who enjoy betting the traditional British way will find that they are more than amply provided for here. All the major sports are very much part of the fold, with cricket, golf, and rugby all in evidence. Of course, darts and snooker are very much part of the fold too. And then, there is no way we can pretend that American sports, such as American football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey, aren't all part of the equation. And when I say all, I really do mean all, with pre-match, in-play, and just outright bets. With the outright bets, the NBA alone has 37 different outright markets that I'm looking at.

Live Betting

Live Betting banner

The inception of live betting has been felt for a few years now, but we still seem to be working in the realm of comprehending just what kind of influence it's having. In-play betting's popularity, meanwhile, is still on the upswing and seems to be grading out almost to the point where some sportsbooks could be said to prioritize it over the more traditional style of pre-game wagering.

This method is one the Rizks have adopted. Upon entering their sports section, the first thing that greets you is a selection of the largest live markets (which are, more often than not, current football games).

Fewer markets are typically on offer for live betting than for pre-event betting. An upcoming football match, for example, might have around 60 different bets available, yet this can drop to as few as 10-20 when the game begins. While this may sound like a limited selection, in fact, you have quite a decent amount of choice in live wagering. What makes live wagering even more engaging and exciting is that its odds are updated with reasonable regularity after the game kicks off—offering a fair reflection of what the heck is going on out on the pitch.

Rizk App & Mobile Betting Options

Mobile Betting Options screenshot

Rizk has done an excellent job of catering to its users who are committed to mobile platforms. Apps for both iOS and Android can be found—though the Android app must be directly downloaded from Rizk's website, as opposed to the App Store, where the iOS app can simply be found and downloaded.

The desktop interface of Rizk did not receive high marks from us, as shown by our 2.5/5 rating in that department. It was usable, but we found it too jam-packed with information and not at all user-friendly. Things were much better on the mobile app, however, where the overall layout was simple and the navigation a breeze, which is how a betting app ought to behave. The better layout and general usability of the Rizk mobile app compared to the desktop site was a nice change of pace.

Rizk makes intelligent use of side-scrolling menus to access the different sports sections and subsections (Overview, Starting Soon, and so on) within them. There's also a convenient, ever-present menu at the bottom of the screen with which to access the 'My Account' area; and to switch between the casino and sportsbook sections of the app. Functionally, the app worked flawlessly during all our testing. All pages loaded quickly and smoothly, and there were no crashes or freezes to speak of.

If you don't want to download the real app, the mobile site is a great second choice. It follows the exact same layout as the app and has all the same functions. It also loads just as fast.

Rizk Bookmaker Features

We really don't want to be too tough on Rizk, but this is yet another area where they strike out. They do manage to get right some of the ultra-important basics—like their choice of markets and their in-play betting. But if you're seeking a sports book that possesses headline-grabbing, can't-miss, special features, Rizk isn't it.

As already mentioned, virtual sports do not exist here. They are not the easiest thing to get right, but several sportsbooks that are not in the premium category still manage to offer them. Because of that, their absence is a little bit of a letdown.

A clearer absence is the lack of live streaming, which is a feature you will find on only the largest sports betting websites. Rizk, however, has something that is even better: a truly marvelous visualization tool. Not only does it look amazing, but it also does an incredibly effective job of keeping you abreast of all the ups and downs of the sporting event you are wagering on. It shows you everything from near misses and goals to what are, and what pretty much seem to be, some game-altering substitutions. You can receive updates that are truly constant. You can track every single thing that is occurring at a game’s event at this very moment. This site is almost too good for following along with the great selection of statistics that are available in real-time. What I find to be an equally impressive feature, though, is how on top of things the in-play betting and cash-out tools are. You can bet on a game and seamlessly pull the plug on your wager if it comes to that.

Rizk Sign Up Process

Rizk Sign Up Proces infographic

Rizk has proven itself inadequate in a few important respects, as we have already shown. This, though, is certainly not one of them. The process of registering with Rizk is straightforward and calls for almost no guidance. It should take you no more than a few minutes to get through it.

To kick off the action, simply navigate to Rizk.com and click on the vibrant yellow button positioned in the top-left corner that reads 'Sign Up.' Doing so will transport you to the first of three stages needed to secure an account. This initial stage requires some basic info, mostly centered around you and your digital devices. I spoke before about how Rizk's mobile platform is quite excellent. I wouldn't say it's more or less excellent than any desktop version Rizk might kick out, but what I can say is that whatever size your account is, you can access it from either a mobile or desktop device.

When the second phase has been finished, a text confirmation will be sent to the number you've given. Take the code from the text and pop it into the box at the top of the third phase. Then you need to accept the site’s main terms and conditions and make your choices regarding marketing preference. When that’s all done, push the big, shiny button that says, “Create Account,” and in a couple of moments, your account will be set, and you’re all clear to make your first deposit and get your bet on.

Rizk ID Verification Process

Sportsbooks like Rizk that are licensed in the UK must carry out verification of user identities. This is done not only to ensure that customers are legally old enough to bet, but also, and perhaps more importantly, to reduce the amount of fraud that occurs in the online gambling space. (The sportsbook quite understandably doesn't want to be involved in any sort of wrongful death or life ruining claims that can arise when an out-of-control gambler loses money.)

To take money out of your Rizk account, you must complete the account verification process. Fortunately, this is a very easy and direct thing to do. Here is a quick and simple guide to the few steps you must take to finish this process:

Assuming you have uploaded the required documents correctly, your identity will be verified almost immediately, and you will then have the freedom to withdraw funds from your account.

Banking Options

Banking Options infographic

Rizk provides a bank method selection that is satisfactory. These methods can be counted on to get cash into your player account. You can deposit via Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, bank transfer, (using Trustly), Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard, and Apple Pay. Anyway, all except one of those have a minimum amount to deposit of £10. Certainly, that's a pretty standard amount in the online gambling world. And here's another interesting thing: Rizk doesn't charge for any deposits or withdrawals you make.

The options just listed are also available for cashing out of your account, with the exception of Paysafecard and Apple Pay. That said, you really ought to use a method that allows you to cash out to a method with which you previously deposited into your account—if you're mindful of the workings of your own finances, that is. All withdrawal requests are held for 24 hours, pending approval. After that, the fate of your cash depends on the method you've chosen to cash out with. eWallet processors are speedy and can clear your request in as little as 15 minutes or as long as a full day. Trustly, going in the other direction, can take anywhere from 1 to 3 days. Anything that goes out via Visa or Mastercard could take as long as 10 banking days to show up in your bank statement.

Rizk Layout

Let us make it clear from the very beginning: when it comes to visuals, Rizk does not have a strong first impression. The homepage of the sports section shows a boxy layout.

All the biggest live events appear in boxes at the top, next to what is presumably their most prominent in-play market (1/X/2 for football, for example). Next, in even larger boxes, come the upcoming matches: the most notable of them at that time, apparently, in the absence of further judgment. This, too, is a list in which graphics (other than the totalizing amount in play) play no part, and the appearance of the thing with its basic fonts, the unremarkable combination of black, red, and yellow, does little beyond making me feel entirely unenthused.

Unquestionably, you can't assess a betting platform based on its appearance. That's just as true in the world of betting as it is in the world of books. At Rizk, however, you aren't just betting over what is apparently a very attractive cover. You're also betting under a platform that performs at a subpar level.

There is just one actual menu on the interface, if you can call it that. In truth, barely a menu at all; more like a bizarre way to express a dearth of options. It's on the left of the screen and has some stuff that's probably not that important to you bettors. When you finally make it to the actual bet options and are trying to find the game you want to wager on, you notice that, for some reason, the menu has just four quick links to the 25+ available sports. Let's face it: locating a specific game to wager on within any menu system is more of a half-hearted task that demands too much time.

The complete interface is far from disastrous. Intuitive, however, it is not, and it simply does not measure up to the modern expectations of a sportsbook.

Customer Support

SCustomer Support banner

You will encounter problems with a sportsbook sooner or later, no matter how good it may be. It is a matter of company and software that cannot be absolutely perfect or absolutely solid. All that really matters, then, is whether you can get those problems solved in a timely and helpful way.

Rizk does very well in one area: Customer service contact methods. Three methods exist to contact the customer service team: electronic mail, for which the typical response time is 30-60 minutes; a phone call (in the form of a call-back), with a typical response time of 15-60 minutes; and—most triumphantly for Rizk—live chat, a service with a typical response time of 30 seconds! And just like the olden days of customer service, help is on hand every hour of every day.

Furthermore, fantastic indirect support is in place from Rizk. This mainly comes through the FAQ section, which is filled with very handy information. All the important topics are addressed here, from deposits and withdrawals to technical matters, and you can easily find exactly what you need thanks to the helpful search feature.

Company Details

In 2016, Rizk started the year and had some seriously good fortune; its online casino was really, really successful at the start. By 2018, it had obviously decided to diversify (what company wouldn't), and we can only assume it went with the sportsbook idea because it was on a lucky streak, but hey, we don't mind. The sportsbook was added right before the biggest sporting event of the year, portending a good showing. We took a calculated risk and, presumably, didn't have to go too far with the book in order to find a place where it would accept wagers.

For almost all its existence, Rizk was owned and run by the Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), which also owned the Guts sportsbook. But in February 2025, Betsson snatched up both sites. Today, like most of Betsson's other brands, Rizk calls Malta home and holds full licenses with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.

Rizk Bottom Line

Although we have tested the Rizk sportsbook a lot, it has proven very difficult to form any overall assessment of this brand. The main reason is that parts of this product are very good, even bordering on excellent. But Rizk also has some very low points that are as low as they can get. And because those lows are so low, they tend to dominate our thoughts.

Rizk has many admirable qualities. When it comes to customer support, both direct and indirect, they excel. Any issue you may have will be solved quickly, without a doubt. Their mobile app is quite striking. There are plenty of options for depositing and withdrawing money, and all of them are respectable. Live betting works well. In some ways, this platform is super easy to use. They have eliminated a lot of barriers to entry in terms of signing up and getting verified. Many platforms could learn a thing or two from them in these regards.

Yet, we must not ignore the significant concerns present. Two major illustrations are the lack of a welcome offer and the absence of genuine ongoing promotions. These two features are especially alarming because the casino section has both. This situation makes us return to the question we posed at the beginning: Is Rizk really concentrating on the casino? Furthermore, the desktop experience is lacking a great deal, and not having some major betting markets available is a colossal miss.

Overall, Rizk presents as a strong option for wagering, particularly for those who like to do it on mobile devices. That being said, there are a few straightforward changes that could be made to the entire offering that would pretty much guarantee a jump in quality.
